Background

Electrical engineers and researchers prefer low-code or no-code solutions to streamline setup and focus on analysis. Recognizing the market's limited options, I led the design team to simplify the calculation process, enabling researchers to focus on what matters most.

Iterations & Design

Over three years, we developed three products using a design thinking approach I introduced, emphasizing empathy and clear guidance. I ensured smooth development with detailed annotations, reducing obstacles for engineers and streamlining product creation.

To align the project manager, designers, researchers and engineers on the team, we wrote out core requirements for ES-Control. This allow the researchers to define deep-learning algorithms for the product and engineers to investigate frameworks to support it.

This is my favorite part of product design—brainstorming, right before uncovering the root cause of a problem. My design teammates took focused time to brainstorm and discuss approaches to tackle the issue.

To build trust and clarify the design thinking process, I established a structure for the design team to share and gather feedback on in-progress low- and mid-fidelity work weekly. This approach minimizes surprises during sponsor presentations and hand-offs.
